I'm Not Strong Enough — But He Is

“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.” — Ephesians 3:16

Today, I feel tired. Not just physically, but deep-down tired. Mentally worn out. Spiritually drained. Honestly, part of me knew it before I even got out of bed this morning. But nothing confirms your impending doom quite like opening the Oura app and seeing a readiness score of 40.

FORTY.

At that point, I don’t even need coffee. I need a medically supervised nap and someone to lower the brightness in the entire world.

You know those mornings where the app politely tries to encourage you with: “Take it easy today.”

Ma’am. I was planning on blinking slowly and surviving. That’s about all I’ve got.

And yet somehow seeing that score sent me into a full existential spiral like:“ Well. This is it. Today’s the day I become one with the couch.”

As dramatic as it sounds, I think a lot of us live like that emotionally and spiritually too. We keep checking our internal “readiness score” trying to figure out if we have enough strength, enough energy, enough peace, enough patience to handle what’s in front of us.

And honestly? Sometimes the answer feels like no.

There’s a lot going on — pressure to figure things out, hold it together, keep moving. And honestly? I don’t feel strong.

But then I read Ephesians 3:16 — and it hit different: “From His glorious, unlimited resources, He will empower you with inner strength…” Not from me. Not from what I can scrape together. From Him. God has unlimited resources. I don’t. I hit my limit. I’ve hit it today. But He doesn’t run out. And He doesn’t expect me to fake strength or pretend I'm okay. He offers real strength — from the inside out — through His Spirit.

Right now, in Christ, I have access to:

• Unlimited resources — not just money or opportunities, but wisdom, grace, energy, truth, mercy. All the stuff I actually need to keep going. • Unceasing strength — not surface-level motivation, but deep, sustaining power that keeps me standing when I feel like collapsing.

• Unequaled peace — not the kind that denies problems, but the kind that says: “Even here, even in this — I’m with you.”

• Unfailing help — when I don’t know what to do, He does. When I’m out of options, He’s not.

Maybe faith isn’t waking up every day with a perfect readiness score. Maybe it’s waking up exhausted, discouraged, uncertain — and remembering that God was never asking me to run on my own strength anyway.

My Oura ring might tell me I’m running dangerously low, but God has never once looked at me and said, “Sorry. You don’t have enough in you today.”

Because His strength doesn’t depend on my battery percentage.

His resources are still unlimited. His peace is still available. His Spirit is still enough.

Even on a “40 readiness score” kind of day.

God, I’m at the end of myself today. I don’t feel strong. But You’ve promised to give me strength through Your Spirit — and I’m holding onto that. Help me stop pretending I’ve got it all together. Help me lean on You, trust You, and rest in the truth that You’re not running out — and You’re not walking away. I need You. Right now.
